As 2020 has continued to unfold in dramatic ways, we at WordRater were curious how different leaders have publicly reacted to events in real-time. To answer this question, we conducted a machine analysis of every speech from Donald Trump, Justin Trudeau, Boris Johnson, and a number of public health experts so far in 2020. We then employed sentiment analysis and other natural language processing tools to uncover the “sentiment and subjectivity” of each of their speeches.
